Install on your computer
Mac
Needs macOS 13 or newer, on Apple silicon or Intel. Open Terminal (press ⌘ Space, type Terminal, press Enter), paste this and press Enter:
curl -fsSL https://brocoded.cloud/install.sh | shIt installs Brocoded in Applications and opens it. Run it again any time to update. You can read the script at brocoded.cloud/install.sh before you run it, and the downloads page has the .dmg.
Windows
Needs Windows 10 or 11. Download the installer from the downloads page, run it and follow the steps. If Windows Defender Firewall asks, allow Brocoded on private networks. Open Brocoded from the Start menu.
Check your agent
In a terminal (PowerShell or WSL on Windows), make sure claude, codex or agy starts normally. Brocoded works with the agent you already have.
Set up your phone
iPhone or iPad
- Open Brocoded in Safari. Other iPhone browsers cannot add it to the Home Screen.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and leave “Open as Web App” on.
- Open Brocoded from its new icon and turn on alerts if you want them.
The downloads page walks through each tap with screenshots. There is no App Store app, so nothing to wait for.
Android
Needs Android 10 or newer. Download the .apk on your phone from the downloads page, allow the install if asked, then open it. See troubleshooting if Play Protect shows a warning.
Pair
- On the computer, choose Pair a phone. A QR code and a short code appear. Keep that window open.
- On the phone, tap Pair a computer and allow camera access. Scan the QR code.
- Check that the code on the phone matches the one on the computer, then tap Pair. On a Mac, press Allow on the computer too.
- Pick a session, or start a new one.
Using sessions
- Open a session. Pick one that is already running, continue an earlier Claude Code or Codex conversation in the same folder, or start a new session in a folder.
- Type. The terminal has a key bar with Esc, Tab, Ctrl and arrows, and a compose sheet for longer messages.
- Approve and answer. The Inbox shows approvals and questions with the full command. The first answer, on the phone or the computer, wins.
- Review and ship. Open the changes to see a read-only git diff, then stage, commit and push.
- Remove a phone. Use Devices on the computer.

Troubleshooting
My phone says the computer is offline
The computer has to be on, awake, signed in and connected to the internet, with Brocoded running. Check these in order:
- Open the Brocoded app on the computer. If it is not running, start it.
- Wake the computer and check its internet connection.
- In the phone app, run Connection check. It tells you which part is failing.
The Mac app reconnects by itself after the computer wakes or the network changes. Give it a few seconds.
The pairing code does not work or has expired
A pairing code works once and lasts 5 minutes. Choose Pair a phone on the computer again to get a fresh QR code and short code. After several wrong guesses the pairing window closes, so open a new one.
The phone will not scan the QR code
- Allow camera access when the phone asks. If you said no, turn it on for Brocoded or Safari in the phone’s settings.
- Hold the phone steady about a hand’s width from the screen, and raise the computer’s brightness.
- If it still fails, use the short code shown under the QR code.
On iPhone, the app is slow to reconnect
iOS pauses web apps in the background. Your session keeps running on the computer. Brocoded reconnects when you open it again. Use the Home Screen icon, not a Safari tab, and see the iPhone steps with screenshots.
Android says it does not recognise the app
Brocoded is installed from an .apk file, so Android may ask you to allow installs from the source you downloaded it from, and Google Play Protect may warn that it does not recognise the app. Tap More details, then Install anyway. That warning appears for any app that is not on Google Play. If battery saver closes the app, the session keeps running on the computer and Brocoded reconnects when you open it.
My Mac says it cannot verify the app
Mac builds are ad-hoc signed, not notarized. The install command in Terminal avoids the warning. If you used the .dmg, right-click the app and choose Open the first time, or go to System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Open Anyway.
Windows asks about the firewall
Allow Brocoded on private networks when Windows Defender Firewall asks. Brocoded makes outgoing connections to its relay and does not need an open incoming port.
I do not get alerts
- Turn alerts on in the phone app’s Inbox, then allow notifications when asked.
- On iPhone, open Brocoded from its Home Screen icon first. Alerts need the installed app.
- Alerts are empty pushes with a fixed message such as “A session needs you”. Open the app to see what it is.
Approval cards do not show up
Cards come from the agent’s own hooks. Start the agent from Brocoded, or turn on the option that brings in chats you start yourself. Claude Code and Codex are supported, and the agents page lists what each one can do. With Antigravity CLI, the terminal’s own prompt may also need Enter after you approve from the phone.
I lost a phone
Open Devices on the computer’s page or in the computer’s own window and remove the phone. That cuts it off straight away, including live connections.
Security
- End-to-end encrypted. Keys are made on your phone and your computer when you pair. The private halves never leave them.
- We cannot read your work. The relay forwards encrypted data. A breach of our servers would not expose it.
- Pairing is guarded. One-time code, 5 minutes, and the Mac app asks you to allow it.
- You can cut a phone off. Removing it from Devices works straight away.
The full picture, including what we do not cover, is on the security page. What we collect is in the privacy policy.
FAQ
Can Brocoded see my code or terminal?
No. Terminal output, commands, files and AI conversations are end-to-end encrypted between your phone and your computer. Our relay only forwards data it cannot open. It can see connection times and message sizes.
Do I need an account?
No. You can pair a phone and use a computer without one. Signing in with Google links your computers to your account. If you do, we keep your Google name and email and which computers you linked.
Does it work on mobile data or another network?
Yes. Your phone and computer connect to a relay, so they do not have to be on the same network. You do not need port forwarding, a VPN or SSH.
What happens if my computer sleeps or loses internet?
The session cannot be reached until it wakes. The Mac app redials on wake or a network change. Work that was already running in the session depends on the computer staying awake.
What does Brocoded cost?
Everything is unlocked during early access.
How do I remove a phone or delete my account?
Remove a phone from Devices on the computer. To delete your account, open You in the app and choose Delete account. Your sessions and chats stay on your own computers.
Which agents are supported?
Claude Code and Codex. Antigravity CLI is early. Other command-line programs run as plain terminal sessions. See the agents page for details.
